the cursed imaginarium of doctor parnassus

so, i just watched the movie. except we all know the movie title doesn't begin with, "the cursed." i have to admit i had to wikipedia the movie so i could fully understand the whole movie. i mean the feature was an amazing combination of imagination and cinematography. i understood the logistics of the film but needed to see that its underlying themes included the consequences of people's choices. but also of course the dying age of story telling and imagination.

any way, the craziest part of it all was of course the fact that this was heath ledger's last movie. he died while filming and so the filming ceased. eventually production came together and director terry gilliam got together depp, law, and farrell to fulfill the rest of ledger's parts. eventually they finished the film successfully. and THEN the crazy part is yet to come. so we have during the filming ledger's passing, then during post-production producer, william vince, passed away from cancer, and then during final editing gilliam was in a car accident cracking his vertebra. can we say trifecta?

my favorite part of it all are gilliam's words (quoted from wikipedia):

"So I thought, it was third time lucky - they just didn't get me. They got the star, the producer, and they were going for the director, and the fuckers failed on the last one. Whoever they are... "They were going for the trinity [...] That would have been a tidy end to the whole thing. But they didn't kill me. I'm stuck here to tell the tale."

so yeah...thought that was crazy reading.

oh! and some fun trivia, they only had johnny depp for one day and three hours to film his part. so they filmed his part all in one take. go figure, depp is just that good. (he was filming public enemies at the same time)

rock me amadeus!

ok, so i was flipping through the radio today and 100.3 was playing rock me amadeus! what a great 80's synth song. i couldn't resist but listen to the whole dang thing and rock out in my car...by myself. and thus, i decided it would make a pretty cool blog title.

so, amanda+coffee after 10:30pm=bad idea. i'm super sensitive to caffeine and i decided it'd be fun to open dad's new keurig coffee maker and brew a batch of dark magic...a very strong coffee. (special thanks to sarah for introducing me to the lovely brew) any way, i'm WIDE AWAKE and it's 11:32pm currently. oh shooooot.

so what better to do than write a bloggy blog!

had a meeting at work today for more paper work. whoop-de-doo. have to memorize the menu for the quiz in 2 weeks! weeee! let's see the texas fries are made with three cheese...queso, jack, and chedder. BAM! take that menu quiz! wow, i'm very lame and caffeinated.

i suddenly have realized i am such a news junkie. seriously, ask lindsey or mallory...anybody that knows me. i purposely put it on fox news as background or to watch. sometimes i switch it up occasionally with a little intervention here, a little obsession there, or maybe even some house hunters. over all however, it's usually beck, baier, hannity, and o'reilly.

so! i am in the midst of redoing my room and i'm almost done with the painting and i'm awaiting my bedding in the mail! weee! i'll post pics when it's all done :] it's gonna be nifty, promise.

even though i do have a job i am not working just yet. so i have nothing else to do with my life then suggest beauty products, weee!!!

ok, so...recently i have discovered some beauty products i just love. and, i haven't always been so concerned about what i use and what works in my beauty regime. but, i feel like i should share the goodness with you guys...besides, who doesn't love to FEEL BEAUTIFUL! lol i just laughed at myself...

so i suggest:

• beauty rush body drink lotion in watermelon daze by victoria's secret (it smells SO GOOD i just wanna lick it off my skin...just kidding, but seriously and it really hydrates)
• moisture surge extended thirst relief by clinque (i looovve this for my face)
• professional remarkable washable waterproof mascara by covergirl (it's so great because it actually comes off with make up remover! oh, and this one's especially for lindsey, lol)
• oil-free eye make-up remover by neutrogena
• glossing cream by fekkai (this stuff is amazing for smoothing down frizzy hair)
• nail polish in, it's all greek to me by opi (i just got my toes done and it's a shiny pink color)
• manipulator shampoo by bed head by tigi (it might be discontinued but you can order it online. it FREAKIN SMELLS LIKE A PINA COLADA and does amazing things for your hair)

headaches, happiness, & HGTV

well, it's been quite a 4th of July weekend. i got to see two different firework shows which is always awesome. i like to feel that i still have that child like mentality when it comes to firework shows, that every time i'm amazed.

but, the real amazement came when my mom and i were riding with my uncle on the back of his sea-doo and got thrown off when my uncle (who...doesn't think all the time) decided it would be a good idea to follow in a boat's wake and then proceed at 40 mph to get out of the wake. that whole exit the wake part was when mom and got thrown off. now, imagine hitting a cement wall at about 35-40 mph, yeahhhh that's kind of what it felt like. i couldn't breathe and neither could my mom for what seemed like an eternity. eventually we were able to get back on the sea-doo and travel safely to shore. i was just kinda sore but my mom's ribs were hurting real bad. so i took a look and i think she might of popped a rib out of place and sprained the ligament. but, besides the medical mumbo jumbo she's doing ok now, just tired and a little sore.

so, any ways best part of the weekend was talking to tim online :] I CAN'T BELIEVE HIS TOUR IS DONNEEEEEE. it's been so crazy. seven months. seven months have already passed. i can still remember december 14th and him leaving. that really sucked. but, seven months have passed and i'm completely ecstatic.

and as for the whole HGTV thing. i'm slightly obsessed i think. my favorites include income property, candice olson's divine design, genevieve gordon's dear genevieve, and vern on next design star. oh! and don't forget house hunter's and house hunter's international. oh my gosh i need help.

and lastly, because i love music and i think everyone should have an appreciation i'm gonna try and put at the end of posts some good songs/bands/albums you guys might be interested in.

let's skip the introductions, for those of you who are reading this you probably know me and if you don't well then i suppose i should go in and adjust my privacy settings, oh well, i'll get around to that later.

i don't know what pushed me to create a blog site, again. i remember when i was like 13 and it was the thing to do, write blogs about pretty much nothing. hormone infused blogs about boys, shopping, and high school. good god i've come a long way. except, it's kind of sad to say i still don't think the content i could write about now-a-days could be any more riveting than say, 8 years ago. (wow, time flies when you're...growing up...)

i suppose now is a good time as ever to begin one of these things considering i'm now a college graduate in some strange limbo. i'm stuck between desperately wondering when i'll get into the graduate school of my choice, starting to work sub-parr jobs, awaiting the return of the love of my life (though, not too far off), and constantly pondering what's to become of my now 22 years of living.

i can say i've come a long way and felt like i've experience a lot, so maybe what i have to say isn't...so...pointless. i'm mostly doing this because i'm terrible at calling people. i've decided i'm an awful phone talker. you know those woman who talk on the phone hours and hours about every little detail that's going on in their life? well, i suppose i'll do that on here and it's for all of you guys i wish i could stay in constant contact with. and yes, not even facebook is enough for me. so this is for you, all you guys i love so much :] i'm just posting what's going on in my life and if you need another website/person/blogger to stalk...just feel free to stop by.

also, i love facebook dearly but there are some things i cannot post due to the fact that i don't want everyone (and by everyone i only mean certain people) knowing my business. so feel special!

any way, i got the title of my blog interestingly enough from the beginning of Langston Hughes's poem, Dreams. what's funny is, i really don't like poetry but i can appreciate it. i say this because i read poetry for what it is, not what a teacher/professor wants it to say and that always pissed me off. usually what i got from the poem was NEVER what the poem supposedly meant. who the heck cares? i don't. but, i liked the poem and you should check it out if you don't know it. and, i'd consider myself a dreamer, so thus it worked.
